**About You/Role**
A Community Development Officer is responsible for developing frameworks and processes to enable the achievement of common goals to improve social, emotional, health and education outcomes for schools and the wider community.

We are looking for a passionate person who can work collaboratively within a strategic programs team that delivers innovative health, safety and wellbeing programs and services that support all staff working in NSW Education.

You will work within the Strategy, Governance and Staff Wellbeing Unit:

- Be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of a state-wide staff wellbeing strategy.
- Deliver innovative programs and services to support of the wellbeing of all staff, enabling our students to receive a quality education.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Develop and integrate an operating framework to provide the basis for the implementation of policies and program initiatives to improve schools’ engagement with parents and the wider school community.
- Assist schools to access community services by strengthening interagency collaboration and using available resources effectively to enhance educational outcomes.
- Participate in regular reviews of operational and consultative processes and procedures to enhance the relationships between community and the department and identify opportunities to improve team performance and customer service outcomes.

**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
- Experience in the development and implementation of programs and strategies to enhance community engagement in schools.

As a Community Development Officer, you will be required to develop and implement programs and initiatives to improve NSW public schools’ engagement with parents and the wider school community. The ability to build and maintain professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders is critical for the role. Provide an example of when you have needed to build a relationship with a key stakeholder(s) in order to achieve a key outcome and what challenges did you face in the process.
