**Job Description**:
This role is a direct report of the GM Prudential, Risk Strategy & Compliance. You will be a thought leader, providing experienced professional design leadership to ensure TAL’s risk management frameworks are aligned to the company’s strategic direction and are compliant with legislation, regulation, current governance, best practice and commercially effective.

You will work closely with the Executive Team, Senior Leaders across all business divisions and staff within the Risk Office to ensure culture, conduct and compliance risks are managed effectively in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations and the Board-approved risk appetite whilst balancing exceptional customer experience and commercial outcomes.

**Some key accountabilities for this role include**:

- Managing TALs prudential compliance framework including maintaining a productive and effective relationship with APRA; -providing thought leadership, advice and influence in strengthening TALs Governance, Culture, Remuneration and Accountability (GRCA) framework; and
- Developing, maintaining and managing TALs regulatory breach reporting framework.

This role will be required to work with a broad range of stakeholders across the group as well as the Board, Executive Team and Regulators. You will manage a small team of compliance professionals as well as be a key contributor to the Risk Office Leadership Team and the organisation's Senior Leadership Team.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence across all levels of the organisation
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing new framework, policy and standards in a complex financial services institution
- A good working knowledge of relevant professional standards and codes
- Experience in reporting and presenting to the executive, Board committees and the Board with an ability to assimilate complex risk analytics into understandable, written analyses
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and APRA prudential standards within the Financial Services industry and Life Insurance industry
- Experience in dealing with regulators in a financial services environment
- Demonstrated experience in uplifting risk and compliance culture and capability.
