The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment, and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.

About the role

We are seeking a values-driven Youth Hub Coordinator who will be responsible for all youth hub activities across Salvation Army North/West Youth Services.

These activities include:

- Design and deliver youth focused workshops, including presentations, training, life skills and facilitate research activities within the Youth Services Hub. Including active planning and delivery of youth participation activities.
- Active coordination and management of the day-to-day running of the
youth hub.
- Coordinating the Youth Empowerment Program (YEP).
- To embed genuine opportunities for youth participation, social enterprise activities, leaderships opportunities and roles for young people across our youth service.
- Promote practice, culture, and integration of youth participation across Youth Services.
- Work alongside young people to assist with raising voices, expanding choices, and creating change in their community and their own lives.

You will successfully
- Evaluate and report on a variety of programs and activities within the Hub
- Embed genuine opportunities for youth participation, social enterprise activities and leaderships opportunities and roles for young people across youth services
- Document all client interactions with SAMIS and met program expectations around case note standard
- Ensure all financial and administrative processes are followed as detailed in program policy and procedure manuals
- Always role model positive interpersonal relationships
- Contribute to positive workplace culture and engage respectfully with colleagues on shift

This is a fixed term (12 month) full-time position, based in TSAY West, VIC. You are required to work from Sunshine and Coburg Youth sites. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 5.

You will have
- Tertiary qualification in Social Sciences, welfare or related field with a degree qualification preferred. Relevant experience in a Social Service environment
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Skills in engaging with the specified client group; demonstrated capacity to build effective relationships with clients based on social work, youth work and psychologically informed environments
- Demonstrated skills in engaging & working with young people with complex support needs including AOD, mental health, out of home care and adolescent violence
- Accurate client records are maintained for all clients and meet all funding body or legislative requirements
- Demonstrated capacity to time manage within a crisis setting whiles maintaining required documentation and IT systems to DHHS and organisational standards
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
