**About the team**:
People Branch sits within the department’s Enabling and Business Services Group and is responsible for strategic and operational focussed HR advice and services to support business areas to meet their workforce needs. We support and enable our people to deliver the government’s agenda in a safe, diverse and inclusive environment.
We lead and manage the department’s functions for:
- Employee Relations
- Performance, Capability and Talent
- Work Health Safety and Wellbeing
- Attraction, Recruitment and Employment Programs
- Diversity and Inclusion
- Workforce Planning and HR Reporting
**The opportunity**:
Whether you’re an experienced APS HR professional or looking to start out in your APS career, we are seeking an experienced, and awesome HR practitioner to lead and develop the department’s People Support team.

**What you will do**:
- Lead a team responsible for the delivery of people-centric rehabilitation and performance management initiatives ] with a geographically dispersed workforce.
- Help shape the strategic direction of the branch and the department’s corporate agenda.
- Build leadership and manager capabilities across the department through the delivery of best practice policies, procedures, and coaching.
- Manage the department’s current Rehabilitation Management System to ensure compliance with legislation.
- Manage a project of to provide upgrades to or the procurement of a new Case management and Work Health and Safety system.
- Coach and develop the team and drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the resolution of complex/high-risk matters, and case management issues.
- Oversee the preparation of complex and sensitive correspondence, briefs, and documentation in a timely manner for senior executives and external regulators and courts/arbitrators.
- Build and sustain effective working relationships with stakeholders across all levels, internal and external to the department, APS and private sectors.
