The
**Regions, Cities and Territories Group**, comprised of the three Divisions below, is providing policy leadership and delivering programs to support regional development and local governments, improving living standards and facilitating economic growth in cities and regions including northern Australia, and providing governance frameworks and services to support communities in the territories.

**Partnerships and Projects Division (PPD)**

PPD works across all aspects of urban and regional development and is responsible for driving the two key policy pillars of the Australian Government’s nation-building agenda - the social and economic activation of the North, and the national vision for liveable, sustainable and resilient cities, suburbs and growing regions. Our work is instrumental in delivering Australia’s future Net Zero economy, and ensuring enduring and equal partnership with First Nations Australians.

**Regional Development and Local Government Division (RDLG)**

RDLG delivers grants, coordinates proposals and provides policy advice to the Australian Government relating to regional strategic issues and microeconomic reform. We work to strengthen the sustainability, capacity and diversity of regional economies through place-based policy and program development; negotiation of local partnerships between all levels of government and local communities; and the provision of grants and other financial assistance to regional economies via local councils, non-profits and other non-government entities - supporting small community organisations to investing in transformative infrastructure projects.

**Territories Division**

Territories Division is responsible for ensuring that appropriate governance frameworks are in place for Australia’s territories and effective infrastructure and services are delivered to Australia’s external territories and the Jervis Bay Territory. The Division comprises staffing to support policy and administrative arrangements in respect of the territories, and administered funding for delivery of essential services and infrastructure.
