**About the Role**

In this role, you will develop and implement consumer media relations strategies and activities for HCF. You will work with a broad range of business stakeholders to deliver a consistent and clear consumer narrative to raise the profile of the HCF Group through the promotion of its’ products, services, people and core strategic objectives to customers and the market.

You will identify, develop, and pitch consumer-centric stories to targeted national media, including TV, radio, print and online outlets.

**What you will be doing in this role**:

- Develop and implement proactive consumer media campaigns promoting HCF’s brand, people, leadership, products and services.
- Work with external agencies as appropriate to manage effective consumer media and PR activities.
- Prepare and manage a calendar of consumer media relations opportunities, informed by Brand & Content, Marketing and other key business plans.
- Develop and cultivate relationships with consumer, industry and mainstream media and manage day-to-day media engagement. Be a go-to voice for media within the health insurance consumer space.
- Writing and distribution of media releases, key messages, and Q&A documents.
- Align with HCF’s brand, content, communications & marketing teams to develop and pitch consumer media story ideas and opportunities.
- Support the content and promotion of HCF’s key consumer communication platforms (e.g. LinkedIn)
- Support the consumer media communication needs of HCF’s sponsorship, partnership, and Research Foundation arrangements.
- Work with the broader HCF business and leadership to determine new media opportunities to address and promote core industry and business pillars including the employer brand, healthcare innovation, community health, wellbeing, and sustainability.
- Provide specialist consumer media counsel to senior leaders and key internal stakeholders to support broader business objectives.

**About You**
- At least 8 years in a consumer or corporate media relations role with a proven ability to work with consumer media outlets.
- Easily able to identify and distil story angles and potential media opportunities.
- Ability to proactively engage with journalists and producers to discuss and create potential media opportunities to promote the HCF Group brand, its’ people, product, and services.
- Experience in insurance or health sector, and journalism or agency, highly regarded.
- Strong consumer relationships and enjoys a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field required.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Proven ability to build consensus and influence effectively across departments and divisions, able to instil confidence from stakeholders.
- Creative thinker and able to keep up with the demands of a 24/7 media cycle.
