**The Department**
The News & Current Affairs Library is a dynamic, experienced team supporting daily news broadcasts, online news content creation and current affairs programs. We are dedicated to helping the News & Current Affairs producers bring to audiences the global and national news stories that matter. Our team works closely with journalists, producers, editors and fellow media managers in the heart of the SBS newsroom.
**The Role**
The purpose of this role is to support the News & Current Affairs producers to bring to audiences the global and national news stories that matter.
Reporting into the NACA Library Supervisor, in this pivotal role, you will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:
- Ensure that the most relevant content is available and delivered to journalists and producers to meet broadcast and publishing deadlines.
- Contribute to the curation of content for retention, re-purposing, and broadcast.
- Support effective workflows and add metadata to provide the most efficient delivery and curation of content across content management systems.
- Work autonomously and collaboratively within the team and across the organisation.
- This role is classified as Level 2 Content and Production ($66,575 - $86,965 base salary) under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement. The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience_ in alignment with this framework.
**About you**
With your experience in carrying out research across databases and digital systems, your passion for news and current affairs, as well as your ability to remain calm under pressure, you will also be able to demonstrate:
- Strong organisational, research and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accurate data entry.
- Experience in information management and database systems.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to build relationships across teams, effectively handover tasks to team members, train new team members, as required, and inform Library supervisor and colleagues.
- Broad knowledge of News, Current Affairs and Sport.
