We are currently working in partnership with a State Government department. We are looking for an AO3 Project Costing Officer on a 2-month contract with possible extension. This is an exciting role for someone wanting to grow their career in the project space and be at the forefront in the support of the innovative development of the regions civil infrastructure.

About the role:
As a Project Costing Officer, you will have a strong background in administration, accounts with some payroll/timesheet experience to enable success in this role, even better if you have experience in the project or construction/infrastructure space. You will contribute to the commercial sustainability of the business through the operational delivery of day to day costing/financial, procurement and project administration services whilst ensuring the service provided is timely, effective and responsive. You will organise and/or assist with the ordering, purchasing and supply of project requirements to allow infrastructure delivery related work to proceed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities will include:

- Undertake financial and timesheet transactions in relation to daily costing, revenue claims in projects and work orders.
- Monitor the financial position of projects and work orders and ensure only correct charges are being debited to projects or work orders and provide early warnings to management of any deviations.
- Undertake "End of Month" and "on request" financial reporting to enable accurate project or work order tracking and to indicate the overall financial position of various projects. Prepare financial documentation in liaison with relevant line managers to facilitate procurement and ensure correct recording of financial transactions.
- Requisition and monitor the supply of goods and services to ensure workflows are uninterrupted. Investigate and resolve routine supplier complaints and feedback. Monitor Inventory purchases and apportionment of costs and assist with stocktaking as required.
- Prepare and check employee timesheets for validity of allowances and entitlements to enable correct payment.
- Adhoc administrative tasks relating to the projects.

About you:

- Previous government experience, highly desired.
- Knowledge of SAP, highly desired.
- Accurate data entry and moderately competent in Excel, Adobe, Teams and Outlook.
- Payroll experience - entering timesheets, allocating hours to project numbers, awareness of allowances, overtime.
