Toowoomba Grammar School is looking for an energetic and driven Head of Athletic Development to join our Sports and Activities Team. TGS staff are passionate about boys’ education and providing an inspiring and broad curriculum for all boys informed by best practice and evidence.

**About Toowoomba Grammar School**

Toowoomba Grammar School was founded in 1875. It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12. There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The School’s campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba.

**About the Position**

The Head of Athletic Development will co-ordinate and implement athletic development strategies across the whole school P-12. The Head of Athletic Development is a member of the Sport and Activities Department and is delegated to exercise direct responsibility and oversight for the effective and efficient co-ordination of all strength and conditioning, and athletic programs. This role will work collaboratively with Heads of Sport, teachers, operations staff and coaching staff to coordinate and plan programs that enhance the athletic developmental experiences for all students P-12.

What will ensure your success in this role is your adept ability to manage the full operations of the role including Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) and general wellbeing and fitness programs. Your passion for Athletics (track, field and cross country), Strength and Conditioning, and student development should flow onto your team through your coaching and mentoring.

The Head of Athletic Development is a full time role commencing Term 3, 2023.

**Selection Criteria**:
You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to:

- Bachelor's Degree in Sport Science or similar Field and Strength and Conditioning accredication (minimum of ASCA Level 2) required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Sport Science or similar Field and Strength and Conditioning accredication (minimum of ASCA Level 2) required.
- Leadership and Management: Proven abilities in leading and managing athletic performance programs, including experience in program design, implementation, and management.
- Communication and Relationship Building: Highly developed communication and liaison skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, coaching staff, and other stakeholders, fostering productive relationships.
- Education and Experience: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Sport Science or a related field, with experience in a school or educational environment being desirable. Current first aid qualifications are also preferred.
- Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Demonstrate the capacity to manage complexity and diversity, plan for contingencies, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Passion for Athletic Development: Exhibit a genuine passion for athletic development and student development, with a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment.
