**Position Description - Graffiti Volunteer Program Coordinator**
**Purpose**
The Graffiti Volunteer Program Coordinator contributes to the safety and well-being of the
community through the coordination of the graffiti removal program. This includes the
recruitment and support of graffiti removal volunteers, arranging volunteers to remove
graffiti, coordinating and conducting crime prevention programs, coordinating and
This role will provide opportunities to positively engage and collaborate with other teams of
the Regulatory Services Unit, Council’s Volunteer Development and Program Coordinator and
Council’s other volunteer managers.
Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain solid relationships with internal and
external stakeholders will be vital to this role.
As an ongoing commitment to the organisation, you will be responsible for delivering the best
service to our community and to improve residents’ quality life; continuously, smartly and
efficiently, in the scope of your daily work.
**Key Deliverables**
- Implement various graffiti management strategies
- Recruitment, select and screen volunteers, including interviewing, reference and relevant
- background screening checks
- Induct and continuously support volunteers, organise relevant training, and conduct
- reviews
- Value and acknowledge volunteers’ contributions (recognition events, collect and act on
- their feedback where appropriate)
- Continuously communicate with volunteers to provide and collect feedback, program
- updates and CoM news
- Address and manage any volunteer issues in a timely manner
- Set goals and objectives to continuously improve the graffiti removal program and look for
- further development opportunities
- Be flexible and adaptable to volunteer’s changing needs and availability
- Coordinate supplies and equipment for volunteers
- Attend to and raise customer requests for graffiti removal including scheduling volunteers
- and reporting graffiti to other teams of Council and appropriate external organisations
- Undertake the administration of the graffiti program including collecting, collating and
reporting statistics and report any suspected instances of fraud and/or corruption in
accordance with Fraud and Corruption Management and the Code of Conduct
- Accurately maintain volunteer management system in a timely manner and update
volunteer role descriptions and other resources
- Participate in developing volunteer newsletter articles
- Assist in the preparation of reports and other documentation for management, Elected
- Members and Council
- Provide back up to the Business Support Officers within the Community Safety Team as
- required
