Resource Economist

Undertake economic research and analysis to identify risks, issues and opportunities relating to the development of Queensland's resource industry.
- Maintain existing, and identify and develop new, intelligence products (such as data dashboards) that summarise industry facts and can be used by stakeholders to understand and communicate key metrics within the industry.
- Prepare reports, submissions and briefs on complex issues to a high standard, ensuring that analysis is based on the latest data and evidence and that it is clearly articulated and well presented.
- Actively incorporate a detailed understanding of current and emerging trends and developments in the Queensland, Australian and global resources sector into analysis and responses prepared by the team.
- Assist with the provision of timely and accurate responses to ad hoc requests for senior staff for internal and external use, including requests from the Minister for Resources, Director-General, Deputy Director-General and Executive Directors.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members and stakeholders to achieve high quality outcomes.
- Actively contribute to business improvement initiatives within the team and the broader division (GSQ).
- Other duties as directed and required.
