**Position Information**:
Towamba Public School is situated on Yuin Country, in the Towamba Valley, approximately 30km inland from Eden, NSW. The school provides a nurturing learning environment focused on wholistic and differentiated education where every student is known, valued and cared for. The school is committed to maximising quality educational programs that support 24 students, and this is underpinned by a focus on supporting student and staff wellbeing. The school has strong community links and is the focal point of the Towamba Village. Towamba Public School was established in 1816 and is characterised by a strong local history in its unique setting nestled in the bushland on the banks of the Towamba River. The school location can at times present challenges with weather events and isolation. Students bring a diverse range of skills and experiences to the classroom and all are guided and supported to succeed. The dedicated and highly motivated staff are committed to providing high quality teaching and learning opportunities relevant to the needs of all students.

Towamba Public School is a proud member of the Sapphire Coast Learning Community and Small Schools Network, which support staff to engage in evidence based professional learning and network with colleagues in other local small schools. The school is committed to improving student achievement and growth in both reading and numeracy, and a differentiated and individualised approach to learning supports student success in a multi - stage context. **Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.

Demonstrated capacity to balance the complex teaching, administrative and leadership roles of a teaching principal in a rural and remote setting.

Highly visible leader with strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships with students, staff, parents, and the community.

Proven ability to provide high level instructional leadership and quality teaching and learning programs to drive the growth and achievement of every student in a multi - stage setting with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
