State Operations Manager

Well known Australian Logistics / Freight organisation
- Oversee all operations from people, systems, P+L, contractors and safety
- $120K - 140K + 10.5% super and car allowance
We are pleased to be partnering with a leading national freight and logistics organisation who have over several years established themselves as a committed, reliable, and efficient operator. They work with some of Australia’s largest FMCG organizations and have a footprint in several capital cities across Australia.
They are now seeking an experienced state operations manager to lead their New South Wales region. This role will have overall accountability and responsibility for operational and financial performance, compliance, and legislated procedures, planning and KPI execution, labor costs and ultimately accountability for all staff and external contractors. Industry experience across rail, transport, freight, or the broader intermodal sector will be highly advantageous. In addition, other areas of experience:
- Experience with a P&L and managing an operation to a budget along with excellent communications skills and good attention to detail.
- Ability to make quick and accurate decisions when assessing operational requirements. Also comfort in managing customers and their expectations.
- Sound leadership capability.
- A continuous improvement mindset.
- Previous experience with award conditions and safety legislation.
