**Where you'll be working**:
The John Hunter Hospital (JHH) is a tertiary referral, teaching, and community hospital with over six hundred beds, birthing an average of 4,200 babies each year. The hospital features fifteen birthing suites; twelve gynaecology beds; seven maternity assessment and day units; thirty-two post-natal beds; twelve high-risk antenatal beds and antenatal clinics across the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Port Stephens area. The service also provides coverage in Midwifery Group Practice located at the Belmont Hospital on the shores of Lake Macquarie which is sixteen kilometres south of the John Hunter Hospital.

**About the role**:
The Equipment Support Officer will assist clinicians in providing the highest quality of care to women and their babies at JHH. This position requires a person who is committed to ensuring stock is available and that all equipment is in good working order.
- Liaise with the Biomedical and Procurement teams
- Provide education to staff on some of the equipment that comes into the unit
- Work within a highly functioning, motivated team in the John Hunter Birthing Services
- Be an integral and valued part of the team
- Support will be provided to you by the Midwife Manager and the Administrative team within Maternity and Gynaecology Services

**About you**:

- You have a high level of attention to detail, value honesty and punctuality
- You have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and have the ability to deal with the multidisciplinary team
- You will need knowledge of multiple computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and computerised support systems iprocurement, Stream, cosnet, and ipharmacy as outlined in the selection criteria or willingness to undertake training
