The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) is Australia’s national criminal intelligence agency. We advise senior decision makers on serious and organised crime impacting Australia. About the branch
The Australian Institute of Criminology collects and reports statistics on a range of issues, including drug use, homicide, deaths in custody, sexual offences, fraud against the Commonwealth and identity crime. Each year a program of research is set in conjunction with the Criminology Research Advisory Council. The current themes are:

- Transnational and serious organised crime
- Illicit drugs
- Economic crime
- Violence against women and children
- Indigenous over-representation in the criminal justice system

**About the role**
The Library Officer role works as part of the library and information management team to support the mission of the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) by providing research and information resources support.

This role has a focus on indexing and abstracting for CINCH, the Australian crime and criminal justice database, and providing and support and advice for cataloguing functions in the team. The Library Officer also undertakes acquisitions, document delivery, circulation and other library and information support tasks.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in a range of library tasks, including acquisitions, circulation, catalogue record creation and review, and inter-library loans.
- Understands the need to maintain accurate and accessible records with demonstrated attention to detail.
- Works effectively under pressure with mínimal supervision, meets deadlines, prioritises workloads and organises their time effectively and efficiently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to liaise with external and internal clients and organisations as well as providing training and feedback to team members.
- Works flexibly as a member of a small team, and is willing to undertake duties consistent with the operations of a small organisation.

**Essential qualifications**
- Tertiary library qualifications (TAFE or university)
