**The Organisation**:
A large Government Department located in the north of Canberra.

**About the Role**:
As a Senior Procurement Officer, your role will be centred on an Account Management Model approach to procurement advising. The duties include:

- Providing high-level procurement support to the different business areas through an Account Management Model structure.
- Providing expert advice and assisting with the approach to the market process by providing advice on open tender process, Limited Tenders, exemptions, panels and market searches and ensuring that Procurement activity is in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement (CPR’s) Framework and Commonwealth Procurement Rules and other legislative requirements.
- Reviewing and submitting RFQs to AusTender on behalf of business areas.
- Provide oversight, advice and management of the Departments ongoing contracts.
- Reviewing procurement documentation associated with Procurement processes including RFT documentation and Contract Variations and Extensions.
- Maintain engagement with business areas to provide them with the guidance and support required to undertake their procurement and contracting activities.

This role is different from most general procurement officer roles. The Senior Procurement Officer advising role is set up in a way that allows business areas undertaking procurement activities to have a dedicated account management approach to procurement, where business areas will approach the team for assistance on their procurement needs.

This role is ideal for current APS6 Procurement Officers looking to work in a premier Government Agency known for high profile and high value Procurements.

The role is available through either a 12-month non-ongoing contract or an S26 permanent or temporary transfer at the APS6 level with the possibility of permanency after the 12 month period. The position includes opportunities to act up at EL1 Assistant Director, Account Manager level.

**Skills and Experience**:
**Preferred**
- Certificate IV in Government (Procurement and Contracting);
- Procurement experience, and experience in providing advice in a similar working environment.
