**Position Summary**

The Paralegal is a key member of the Land, Planning & Environment team and has an important role to assist with matter management for major projects and filing obligations for Panel, VCAT and Supreme Court proceedings and property and environmental searches.

**Duties and Accountabilities**
- Assisting to manage legal issues register for major projects and project timelines.
- Updating details, progress, and status of hearing requirements, due diligence registers, client advice registers and assisting with client queries.
- Collate billing financial information, review bills against fee estimates, and coordinate drafting and finalizing bills. Manage communication with third-party firms regarding the disbursement process, coordinating with the financial team, and providing timely updates to ensure effective invoicing processes.
- Organize materials for hearings and draft related correspondence with clients, governmental agencies, and legal professionals.
- Liaise with barristers, chamber clerks, and clients on confidential legal matters and engagements as well as organizing documents and workspaces for Briefs to Counsel.
- Prepare and draft trust accounting forms.
- Upload, file, and manage documents for hearings and submissions.

Conduct company, title, and land searches, and set up property and conveyancing workspaces (PEXA).
- Conduct legal research for projects including statutes, regulations, and case laws.
- Utilize online databases, libraries, and other legal resources to prepare legal research memos and provide current awareness updates on legal developments and new cases.

**Qualifications and Experiences**
- Bachelor of Laws;
- knowledge of Panel, VCAT and Supreme Court filing requirements;
- strong proficiency with Infotrack and WebVOI platforms;
- strong proficiency with MS office package.

**Required Experience**
- demonstrated experience in land and property practice
- previous relevant experience as a Paralegal
- demonstrated experience in drafting legal documents

**Salary**: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
