Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is an integrated transport infrastructure and precincts planning project that will deliver a 90km rail line linking every major train service from the Frankston Line to the Werribee Line via Melbourne Airport, as well as investment in the suburbs, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other. Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) is the statutory body established to plan all elements of the project, procure builders, develop structure planning for SRL Precincts and oversee construction and the other changes that will help transform Melbourne and Victoria.

**About the opportunity**:
The Environmental Advisor role assists with providing specialist environmental expertise on issues impacting the planning, design, construction, and operation of Suburban Rail Loop. Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, this role assists with providing high quality, timely and accurate review and advice whilst building strong internal and external relationships. The role requires collaboration with project teams and external advisors to ensure that the project complies with its regulatory obligations and meets quality and program requirements.

Reporting to the Environmental and Planning Manager you will play a pivotal role in:

- Assist in the development of complex environmental assessments, in collaboration with project teams, technical and other advisors, that successfully achieve scope and program requirements.
- Identify environmental risks and opportunities and assist in the development of environmental requirements consistent with the projects risk profile, stakeholder requirements and legislative obligations, throughout all phases of the project
- Provide environmental impact and management advice to project teams to support development of project solutions.
- Work collaboratively with the team leading planning and heritage approvals for the project’s transport infrastructure to ensure approvals and environmental management issues are resolved to achieve best for project outcomes.

**About you**:

- Able to define tasks to be delivered to meet agreed outcomes; Coordinate and guide others in the execution of work activities; Monitor progress of tasks against plans and takes corrective action when required.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and has capacity to handle change and uncertainty.
- Ensure that day to day planning and work processes are in line with team/organisation strategy; Identifies and develops own and team objectives linking strategies to actions to achieve these; Guides others in strategic planning process.
- Holds a relevant tertiary qualification and experience in environmental planning, science or management, urban geography or a similar discipline.
