**About the role**:
This is a leadership position at the Geelong refinery where you will develop and implement strategies for contracting across service contracts, catalyst/chemical, material and equipment supply contracts that drive continuous improvement across the performance metrics of safety, quality, cost and schedule. The role is a small team Line Management position but a significant influencer on site, where the latter focus is on working with key budget holders to make a step change in the management of refinery fixed costs

**Responsibilities**
- Manage team of Procurement Professionals, who are tasked with negotiating individual high value contracts (>$4m) for the business across Refinery, SC and Aviation sectors and overseeing the contract management against a range of performance indicators.
- Devise sourcing strategies in accordance with Business Managers, taking into account supply chain risk and contingencies, IR strategies and commercial outcomes.
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous outcomes for the business (cost and terms)
- Examine and test existing contracts against a range of metrics and provide recommendations for way forward in accordance with business requirements
- Perform risk management for the business across critical supply contracts and agreements
- Be accountable for driving a step change in cost culture on site; working with key budget holders to build commercial skillset, improved cost diligence and to proactively manage budgets.
- Line Manager for four Procurement professionals
- Collaboration and oversight of budget management across key cost centres on site (Maintenance, Operations, Asset Teams)
- Ensuring all contract requirements support the standards of our Safety Management System
- Contract tender/award process incorporates safety criteria, values performance and sets out minimum non-negotiable requirements

**About you**:
We are seeking a driven procurement professional with a strong business background and experience leading teams to join us at our Geelong refinery. We are looking for someone with:

- Strong leadership capability
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated business management experience
- Experience in delivering cultural change programs
- Ability to analyse data/trends and make difficult decisions
- Experience in negotiating and managing procurement and supply contracts
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as ability to understand the market
- Working experience as a Procurement Manager, Business Manager or Head of Procurement (preferred)
- Possess a culture of improvement and innovation
- Be customer centric (internal and external)
- Be curious, willing to continuously learn and experiment
- Have a collaborative approach to change (one team)
