**About the role**:
We have a permanent opportunity for a Specialist - Aboriginal Contractor Engagement to lead Aboriginal supplier engagement across Water Corporation. You will work to increase Aboriginal contractor usage and deliver sustained levels of engagement, as well as alignment with our Reconciliation Action Plan. This role will be based in our Leederville office reporting to the Manager - Commercial Support.
**What you’ll do**:
- Represent Water Corporation across Government and non-Government agencies, as well as with other stakeholders, to negotiate and influence the delivery of meaningful outcomes for Aboriginal supplier engagement
- Provide advice across the Corporation on Aboriginal suppliers, ensuring understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal business services and local programs
- Investigate and lead critical projects that enhance service delivery, budget effectiveness, efficiency and improve outcomes for Aboriginal suppliers
- Project manage and deliver a range of key events, projects and functions of strategic importance, to improve the Corporation’s brand in the industry
- Establish and maintain networks with Aboriginal businesses, including attendance at meetings and ongoing communication and liaison
**Your skills and experience**:

- This position relates to Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, where Aboriginality is considered a genuine occupational qualification for this position
- Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline and considerable experience in procurement and contracting in a utility business or a heavy engineering and Construction environment
- Considerable experience in positions that require deep knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal cultural beliefs, attitudes, and protocols
- Considerable experience working with procurement policies and procedures employed by large Corporations
- Experience in the development of corporate strategies and policies
- Availability to undertake travel within Western Australia in accordance with business needs
