**Associate, Priority Markets**

**About the Role**

Investment NSW have 2 ongoing opportunities within the Trade and Investment Group.
- Associate Priority Markets (North Asia and Americas)
- Associate Priority Markets (ASEAN)

The Associate will be responsible for coordinating the State’s whole of government international trade and investment strategy for key markets serving as a bridge between the offshore teams, onshore investment attraction and export teams, and external stakeholders.

Working with and reporting to an Associate Director, Priority Markets, you will:

- Support trade and investment relationships with international governments, international business chambers, Australian Government stakeholders as well as NSW’s relationships and agreements with priority markets.
- Prepare high quality briefs for Ministers and departmental executives on matters impacting NSW’s relationships internationally and design and deliver activities to advance the State’s economic interests in international markets.
- Implement market-specific trade programs, both in NSW and overseas, that match NSW capability with demands in priority markets to support NSW businesses to grow.
- Support investment lead generation initiatives, collaborating with colleagues across the department and working with intermediaries and channel partners, to grow investment opportunities for NSW and to build the State’s investment pipeline.
- Deliver ministerial missions and other trade and investment profiling activities in NSW and overseas to advance the State’s economic interests.
- Undertake research and analysis, identifying trends and preparing project briefs, to support informed decision-making and planning.

Two roles are available:

- **Associate, Priority Markets (North Asia and Americas)** and
- **Associate, Priority Markets (ASEAN)**.

**About You**
- You have tertiary qualifications in international business, government, public policy, law, commerce, finance, or other relevant disciplines.
- You have experience working in or with ASEAN or the Americas (the role in the North Asia and Americas team covers the Americas region).
- You have experience working in trade promotion or investment attraction or private sector experience, particularly in NSW’s priority trade and investment sectors of technology, agrifood, MedTech and life sciences, clean economy and resources, and defence and aerospace.
- You have excellent negotiation and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- You have project management experience and skills in delivering complex international projects involving many stakeholders.
- You are highly organised with the ability to multitask, plan and manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
