**About the team**

The Site Strategy & Facilities Services (SSFS) branch plays a key role in maintaining high quality facilities and specialised equipment, buildings, and office equipment in alignment with the strategic, capital and site strategies.

**About the role**

The purpose of the Physical Security Operations Manager is to deliver the physical, protective, and electronic security controls to maintain a robust security environment for the protection of the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) official assets, resources, staff, residents, and visitors to the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Bruce Campus and the National Training Centre for Rowing Australia, Yarralumla.

You will be responsible for;
- Administration of the Electronic Access Control System (EACS), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) and Intercom System.
- Developing and implementing, policies, procedures, and practices to support the integrity of the security systems including keys, swipes, and identification cards.
- As Chief Site Warden, lead the emergency response team and contribute to the effective management of emergencies, through the provision of expert advice and support to the ASC Emergency Control Organisation.
- Provide expert advice to the development, implementation, and delivery of emergency training programs for fire wardens throughout the AIS Campus.
- Operational management of the physical security contract ensuring service provider performance is delivered to contractual standards.

**About you**

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent attention to detail, experience managing stakeholder relationships, projects, and efficient and effective operational service delivery.
- Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in Government Security, including Venue security and Government Investigations.
- Demonstrated experience with security technology including alarms, EACS, CCTV, EKMS and intercom systems.
- Demonstrated record of providing leadership and management to achieve high personal and team performance and meet organisational and business objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in Government security policy and procedural writing and review.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling, and concise advice to inform executive members to support decision making.
- Demonstrated experience in managing financial resources, risk management, and business planning.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a AGSVA clearance to Negative Vetting Level 1.

**Eligibility**

To be eligible for employment with the Australian Sports Commission, it is preferred that applicants are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

**Notes**

- Should a merit pool be established for this position, it may be used to fill ongoing or fixed term opportunities as they arise within 18 months from the date advertised.
- The ASC operates under the Australian Sports Commission Act 1989 and is separate to the Public Service Act 1999. The ASC accepts most leave liability and recognition of prior service if you are currently employed at a Commonwealth agency.
