**About the Nutrition and Dietetics Department**

Our departmentis a vibrant and fast-paced environment with a team of 42 staff (34 EFT) across three sites. We function as one departmentand work in asupportive and friendly environment.We provide service to inpatients, outpatients and home/community programs, spanning acute care, sub-acute care and rehabilitation. Our Dietitians are experts in medical nutritiontherapy and are organised into clinical streams, each with aseniorleader: specialist medicine, ICU/surgical/gastro, oncology, paediatrics and mental health, sub-acute & rehab. Other key activitiesacross our departmentinclude staff education and development, student training, quality improvement, research and food service.

**Details of position**

This position is based primarily on the Austin site and will work as part of our Paediatrics and Mental Health stream. The workload will primarily include general paediatrics, Type 1 diabetes, eating disorders, child & adolescent mental health and adult mental health. Workload allocation will be across both inpatient and ambulatory settings, and may vary according to operational needs across the stream and the department.The workload allocated to this position will be reviewed regularly and may change at the end June if funding received specifically for paediatric inpatient eating disorder caseload management ceases.

**About you**:
Ideally, you’ll have:

- Sound clinical nutrition knowledge in a variety of areas with demonstrated depth of knowledge in managing patients with Type 1 diabetes and eating disorders.
- Demonstrated understanding of hospital food service systems and how to work effectively with food service staff.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated high-level communication skills.
- Effective counselling skills and commitment to patient-centred care.
- Demonstratedorganisational skills, efficient workload management and ability toprioritise.
