The Role

Exciting opportunity to join our Client Engagement Team as a Library Assistant

As the Library Assistant at Murdoch University, under the guidance of the Senior Library Officer and you’ll be at the forefront of delivering exceptional customer focused services that go above and beyond. You will be the go-to person for loaning and returning items, assisting with queries, mastering the art of efficient shelving ensuring every shelf is in top notch order and shelf checking. This role isn’t just about tasks; it an invitation to bring your confidence, excellent communication skills and organisation to the library experience.

Your key duties
- Assist clients with common self-service activities.- Contact Facilities to report any maintenance issues.- Undertake routine check - ins of library material using the Library’s Library Management System.- Maintain routine Library security.- Support new and current team members.

What you’ll bring to this role- Ability to work evening shifts (5pm-11:15pm and/or 8pm-11:15pm) weekdays and weekends.- Provide quality customer service and communicate effectively with diverse customers.- Work both as part of a team and independently including working without direct supervision.-
- Ability to work accurately and with attention to detail.
