**Where you’ll be working**
You will be working with a diverse and dynamic team within the Office of the Deputy Secretary, Regional Health, and based at 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards, NSW 2065. The Office of the Deputy Secretary is a unit of the Regional Health Division of the Ministry of Health, that plays a key role in improving the access and delivery of excellent patient experiences and outcomes for the people of regional, rural and remote NSW.

**About the Role**
The Director, Office of the Deputy Secretary leads, guides and provides expert and strategic advice on policy, planning, project, change management and operational matters, relating to health and more specifically regional health, to support the priorities of the Deputy Secretary, Regional Health and the delivery of organisational objectives.

The role serves as a focal point for all matters that require the direct intervention of the Office of the Deputy Secretary. The role has strategic oversight across the Division. It plays a crucial role in promoting the Division and has oversight of strategic communication with internal and external stakeholders, and the operational function of the office.

You may be asked to undertake further assessments as part of the recruitment process for this position, which may include, but is not limited to, psychometric assessment (e.g. personality and cognitive abilities assessments) and/or particular work tasks.

**Essential Requirement**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and proven experience in areas of policy, planning, stakeholder engagement and communications.
- Extensive management experience and a record of achievement in a large and complex environment, including proven skills in developing and managing relationships and delivery partnerships across a wide and complex group of stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the workings of government, and the healthcare sector.

New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
