**The Role**:
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Midwife Leader to join the team at Northern Health. The primary role of the Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM) within the Maternity Ward and Maternity Services is to promote and evaluate the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care, providing clinical leadership, operational management and strategic direction for staff at Northern Heath. This will ensure the delivery of a cost effective service with a focus on midwifery excellence.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Proven leadership skills that effectively engage staff in the provision of safe and evidence-based care
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities
- Proven strong organisational and time management skills
- The ability to work effectively within and leading a team
- A well rounded understanding of patient flow principles, access KPI’s and hospital demand management
- Well-developed problem solving and innovation skills
- Demonstrated utilisation of evidence based/best practice consistent with scope of practice
