**The Role**

We are seeking a driven and passionate, suitably qualified and experienced Lactation Consultant to join our Breastfeeding Support Services team and Northern Health.

The successful applicant will be based at the Epping campus, within the Maternity Unit, and will be responsible for providing assessment, education and support to all areas of the organisation where needed. They will be responsible for the delivery of evidence based, high quality care and education to the women as well as to their colleagues within the hospital service. The Lactation Consultant is responsible for liaising with members of the multidisciplinary team where appropriate. The role will encompass the evaluation and auditing of current breastfeeding policies and procedures as well as the process in place within the organisation to help Northern Health Breastfeeding Support Services to become more efficient.

You are an experienced midwife who has a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and achieving outstanding outcomes. You will work with both the lactation, nursing/midwifery, neonatal and medical teams regarding all aspects of the service including pregnancy and postnatal care. You will be self-motivated and energised working with likeminded, passionate colleagues who share common values and purpose that both support and encourage a positive breastfeeding journey for every patient. You strive toward providing high quality evidence based care as you improve breastfeeding outcomes for women and their babies.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Relevant qualifications including IBLCE Qualification
- Demonstrated experience aligned to position description
- Current AHPRA registration
