**Please note**: Due to Machinery of Government changes under Section 30 of the Public Administration Act (PAA), effective 1 January 2023, your employment will be with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. Corporate Services, including payroll, will be provided by the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions while a process for the formal transfer of staff in impacted areas is implemented.
The Rehabilitation Bonds Support Officer supports the assessment of rehabilitation liabilities and setting bonds for mine, quarry and other earth resources sites across Victoria. The position works closely with Earth Resources Regulation's Regulatory Governance, Statutory Authorisations and Regulatory Compliance teams, the State's public land manager, co-regulators, landholders and other stakeholders to coordinate and administer complex rehabilitation liability assessments and oversee management of financial securities for all earth resources sites in Victoria.

**Key Accountabilities include**:

- Support the assessment of rehabilitation liabilities and setting bonds for mine, quarry and other earth resources
- Coordinate correspondence for progressive reviews of rehabilitation liability assessments and bonds
- Maintain an accurate record of rehabilitation liabilities, bond information and securities
- Contribute to working proactively with Earth Resources Regulation's officers, the State's public land manager, private landholders and co-regulators
- Assist the rehabilitation liability assessments and bonds team

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Relevant experience working in a regulatory environment would be advantageous
- Proficiency in the use of electronic records systems would be highly regarded

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2025. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
