**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Join the dynamic team at Holmesglen Student Wellbeing Department as an experienced Youth Worker to advocate and serve as a role model for learners of both the Switch and VCE VM program. The position will proactively engage with students and teachers to identify and support ‘at risk’ students, providing holistic support and increase retention.

The role will support 15 to 19 year old student’s facing mental health issues, welfare, behavioural, developmental, social and protection issues, and actively promote the Switch and VCE VM program within schools.

**Salary**: $70,973 to $76,352 p.a pro rata (dependent upon qualifications and experience) + 11% super + annual leave loading.
**Time Fraction**:Full time, 1.0 EFT
**Location**: Waverley and Moorabbin Campus (working at both campus’s throughout each week)
**WWCC**: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining a Working with Children Check.
**Police Check**: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
**Position Status**:Ongoing contract of employment, with a 6-month qualifying period

**ABOUT YOU**
- Preferred experience in an educational environment or similar, with a focus on student issues and expertise in providing counselling, welfare services, and career guidance.
- A commitment to ethical professional practices and counselling standards, along with a strong understanding of case management processes for effective student support.
- Familiarity with relevant community organisations and welfare agencies, including welfare and mental health information services and referral procedures.
- Knowledge of necessary legislation, regulations, processes, and techniques, as well as strategies to support individuals with a variety of needs.
- An understanding of educational programs, such as Apprenticeships and VCE, and staying up-to-date with current issues and developments in the vocational and higher education sectors that impact the student experience.
- Possession of post-graduate qualifications in social work, psychology, counselling, or a related discipline, coupled with relevant work experience.
