**The Opportunity**:
- Lithgow City Council _has an exciting opportunity for a **Community &** **Cultural Development Coordinator **to join their team in Lithgow, NSW.
Reporting to the Community and Culture Manager you will be responsible for the development and/or facilitation of community and public art projects, including identifying initiatives to support a robust and vibrant local creative sector.
The position will have responsibility for overseeing the management and programming of the Union Theatre including the attraction of quality performing arts, conferences and events, and to encourage participation by the local community.
More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Review and update Council's Cultural Plan and Cultural Precinct Study and determine priority actions for funding and inclusions in Council's relevant plans and processes.
- Provide advice and support to the community to foster a vibrant cultural sector, including promotion, facilitating collaboration, and identifying growth strategies.
- Develop and deliver projects, programs and/or strategies to increase community participation in cultural activity and support the local creative sector.
- Investigate grant funding and sponsorship avenues to deliver cultural activity, planning and development opportunities.
- Provide support for other relevant departmental events to enhance Council’s events and programs.
- Plan and deliver the annual Australia Day event and collaborate with Council's Community Development team and other partners on the planning and delivery of other events including Youth Week, International Women's Day, NAIDOC and Harmony Day.
- Review current procedures, policies and resources for the effective operation of the Union Theatre and update as required.
- Attract a diverse and vibrant program to the Union Theatre including performances, exhibitions, educational based activities, and community events and develop ongoing relationships with local and touring performing organisations.
- Identify future facility development requirements for the Union Theatre and seek grant opportunities to fund these.

**About you**:
- Qualifications or relevant industry experience in cultural development, arts, or theatre management.
- Experience in developing and delivering cultural programs and/or events.
- Ability to provide specialist advice and expertise on arts, cultural events, and development matters.
- Highly developed communication and customer service skills.
- Demonstrable experience working directly with community.
- Experience in project management.
- Commitment to team work.
- Demonstrated excellent computer skills across a range of programs including Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated commitment to the principals of honesty and integrity.
- Demonstrated commitment to Work Health & Safety.
- Class C Drivers Licence.
