Our client is a reputed Australia Medical Research Institute leading to better health and provide supports for people with professional development opportunities, flexible working arrangements and other benefit. They are currently seeking for Animal Technician Leader to join their team in SA.

**About the role**
- Oversee the animal technicians for rosters and schedules
- Organize and implement checks and cage change
- Supervise and undertake regular animal room and equipment.
- Ensure appropriate records are managed, monitored and maintained
- Maintain highest of ethical and animal care standards in compliance with legislation and SOPs
- Provide job training, mentoring and conduct inductions for new staffs
- Support to coordinate the facility works and repairs as required
- Supervise casual staff and/or work placement students
- Prepare SOPs for required practices in the facility, including risk assessment when required
- Utilize and maintenance support of the animal database system, chemical inventory and procurement activities including invoicing and goods receipting
- Prepare regular reports to management team.
- Assist to audits, spot check, coordination of QA programs
- Participate in special projects to continuously improve processes, tools, systems and organisation.

**Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary Animal Science Qualification or equivalent experience
- 5 years or above of animal technician experience
- Supervising and leading a team experience is desired
- Working knowledge of rodents (mice and rats), breeding systems, and animal
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities within own area of responsibility
- Skills and knowledge and experience in the care and use of animals in the animal research setting
- Demonstrated experience and capability in operating animal database management systems, including the ability to run and analyse reports, organise, and maintain records to meet business requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated customer service focus
- Reliable, patient and trustworthy with a professional and caring approach
