The Electronics and Instrumentation team is part of the Technical Services group that delivers outstanding support to students, academics, and researchers for enhancing education and research output. The Technical Services team provides a platform for collaboration across the University, broad industry involvement and community engagement through focused customer service based on exceptional personnel skills and expertise. The Technical Services team works closely with academics and professional teams as well as the Infrastructure Branch and the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Branch to ensure safe and efficient utilisation of teaching, office, workshop, and laboratory space.

Working under general direction the Technical Officer will work collaboratively with the other technical officers in the team to deliver technical support and advice to students, academic and research staff for teaching practicums and research projects in line with the strategic direction of the faculty. The role will be required to support the day-to-day operation of the Electronics and Instrumentation workshop within the faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology (SET).

More specifically The Technical Officer operates electronic equipment, diagnoses and repairs electrical and electronic faults in lab equipment, manufactures electronic devices and builds and modifies electrical and electronic devices to perform nonstandard operations.

**To be successful you will need**:

- Demonstrated electronic expertise.
- Demonstrated experience in installation, maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic or general laboratory equipment.
- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety management requirements relating to a laboratory environment
- Proven ability to be able to problem solve and provide work around solutions to meet deadlines.
