About us

As a department our purpose is to help the community to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from the impact of fire and emergency events.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is the primary provider of fire, rescue and emergency management programs and services throughout Queensland. The department encompasses the Fire and Rescue Service, disaster management services, the Rural Fire Service and the State Emergency Service, and also supports other volunteer groups providing emergency response to Queenslanders.

QFES is one department with many services, many capabilities and many partners.

Your key accountabilities

Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to:

- Provide efficient and effective records management including statistical reporting and maintenance of manuals, data bases and filing systems to ensure information is accurate and accessible as required.
- Monitor and provide advice concerning administrative processes and systems, and contribute to the ongoing development and modification of office procedures to support continuous improvement.
- Order and purchase consumables, including processing of invoices and RTI payments, and reconcile expenditure against monthly finance reports in accordance with financial policies and procedures.
- Provide information and advice to internal and external clients including members of the public and other officers regarding the services provided by the RTI and Privacy unit.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and ethical behaviour to manage information appropriately and meet compliance with legislative requirements.
