**The Role**
The Directorate has an opportunity for an APS6 Project Support Officer within the Infrastructure Division (ID) Project Support and Smart Buyer team to engage widely throughout Defence and positively contribute to the delivery of estate and infrastructure within Defence.

The APS6 Project Support Officer will be accountable, under broad direction, to provide advice to Project Teams on relevant approval pathways and processes in line with Defence’s Capability Framework and broader Australian Government policy.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Provide a point of coordination and high-level advice, support and training within the Group for inquiries relating to the Smart Buyer process.
- Support the facilitation of SEG Smart Buyer and Tailored Approval Pathway workshops.
- Draft and prepare workshop documentation and presentations, including Smart Buyer Reports.
- Provide support to Infrastructure Division’s Project Teams approaching Gate Reviews.
- Support the development and management of the annual Enterprise Estate Investment Program (EEIP) Gate Zero Submission to the Investment Committee.
- Maintenance of standard operating procedures for the tasks within the Project Support role.
- Other tasks as instructed to assist within the wider Directorate.

Note: The role requires on-site access to systems and offices located within the ACT from time to time.

For this reason, whilst flexible working conditions can be applied to an extent, any successful incumbent will be required to reside within the ACT region and be able to work primarily from our Brindabella Park office.

**About our Team**
Estate Planning (EP) Branch is responsible for strategic planning in order to provide a strategically aligned, affordable, safe and sustainable estate that enables Defence capability and operations. On behalf of DEPSEC Security and Estate, the Enterprise Estate and Infrastructure Capability Manager, Assistant Secretary Estate Planning (ASEP) is the Program Sponsor, and principal departmental planning approval authority for new, replacement, and/or divestment of infrastructure, facilities, and land.

The Directorate of Business Improvement and Governance within Estate Planning Branch in Infrastructure Division (ID), Security and Estate Group (SEG), is responsible for business governance and corporate functions across ID, and support to Estate programs and projects.

The Project Support Team coordinates and delivers the Smart Buyer function for SEG. You will work with Project Teams across the Group to develop and progress Gate Zero consideration of Estate and Infrastructure projects, along with support to Project Teams throughout the Gate Review process.

- A sound understanding of Government approval and authority processes, and how these align to guidance issued from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Department of Finance.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively to build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels of seniority.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to self-prioritise workloads.
