Assistant Manager

**Rollers Bakehouse has an opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to step into the role of Assistant Manager**

This role is split across the front of house and barista team and will be responsible for supporting the manager in overseeing the entire operations of Rollers. We are looking for someone who is proud of their work, thoroughly organized, strives to provide the training and tools to develop their own skills and the team and wants to lead an industry leading bakery in the heart of Manly.

The team arrives each day to see their mates as much as they show up to work. The team is a passionate group, each with a unique flare and all bringing an energy to their specific roles and responsibilities. No matter what team (Baristas, Bakery or front of house) each member supports all aspects of the business.

**About the role**

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting the Manager in overseeing daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and staff scheduling.
- Train and develop staff to ensure high-quality customer service, product presentation, and barista skills.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including overseeing cleanliness and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Contribute to marketing and promotional efforts to drive sales and customer engagement.
- Contribute to be part of a positive team culture ensuring open communications
- Reporting of daily sales and performance factor information to management
- Help lead and maintain an intensive coffee program, including sourcing beans and brewing
- Train and supervise other baristas, ensuring consistency and high-quality drinks
- Monitor the performance of baristas and provide constructive feedback to help them improve
- Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
- Manage inventory and ordering of supplies, ensuring that there is always an adequate stock of coffee and related products
- Work with management to develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the coffee program and increase sales

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the food service industry, with a focus on barista skills.
- Coffee and barista experience (minimum 1 year)
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Resilient and able to perform in high-pressure service periods
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards
- Passion for providing excellent customer service.
- Flexibility to work weekends and early mornings as required.
- Able and willing to work a rotating roster that includes weekends and public holidays.
- Punctual and reliable.
- First Aid Certificate.
- NSW FSS (Food Safety Supervisor) Certificate.

**At least 2 years prior experience in a similar role is highly recommended as well as experience as a barista.**

**Salary**: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
