We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager to provide state-wide leadership and expertise in evidence-based, high-quality, and measurable research, education design, and program evaluation that guides and informs the development of teaching and learning practice in literacy focused upon improving outcomes for early years learners in preschools and schools.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Initiate, develop and manage innovative and contemporary educational design and research projects and functions, to guide and influence the development and implementation of literacy curriculum, pedagogical standards, systems, professional learning programs, practices, and resources, that are tailored to the needs of early years leaders and teachers, and support the sustained improvement in the quality of literacy teaching, learning, and reporting practice across the state.
- Research, identify, review, and analyse local, national, and international pedagogical developments, programs and projects, and develop recommendations and initiatives to guide the delivery of new high quality, measurable and consistent literacy learning resources, practices and systems for early years learners that are aligned with the relevant curriculum and pedagogical frameworks.
- Provide state-wide leadership and expertise to support and guide the development, implementation and review of literacy strategies and pilot projects, that are based on expert pedagogical research, and the evaluation of existing contemporary programs and strategies, including conducting detailed reviews to identify, measure, analyse and report on associated feedback, data, results, impacts or issues.
- Work collaboratively with Primary Years and Secondary Years Literacy Policy Managers, other Curriculum and Learning staff and other internal and external stakeholders to lead the complex identification and analysis of professional practices and needs relating to literacy learning and teaching, which informs the design and development of evidence-based programs and projects.
- Provide expert evidenced based reports, advice, and resources, to Curriculum and Learning leaders and project officers, including recommending and articulating best practice pedagogy in literacy and identifying and analysing complex risks, issues and opportunities associated with early years teaching and learning.
- Ensure current and emerging technologies is maintained in all literacy work, learning and teaching standards, systems, professional learning programs, practices, and resources.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**: Current full teacher registration.
**Desirable**: Relevant post graduate qualifications.
**Special Conditions**:
Applicants must be either currently registered or able to be registered to teach in South Australia. If not permanent with the Education Department, applicants must meet the department’s minimum employment requirements before taking up an appointment.
Please note that department employees working in high-risk environments are required to maintain up-to-date vaccination against COVID-19, with a TGA Approved Vaccine. Vaccination status must be disclosed and provided for sighting on request.
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
