An exciting opportunity exists for a **Payroll/Roster Manager** to join the **Medical Workforce Unit** based at **Wollongong Hospital**.

**What you'll be doing**

The Medical Workforce Unit is responsible for the recruitment, appointment, payroll and management of the junior medical staff (senior registrars to interns) within ISLHD. The MWU is committed to delivering high quality, client-focused and professional services that support the organisation in the delivery of its core function, which is the provision of high quality, safe and efficient health services that are responsive to the needs of patients, carers and the community.
Contribute to the strategic planning, development, implementation, management and improvement of District programs and services which operate to support the safety and quality of specialist care to communities therefore effecting health outcomes.
Contribute to the provision of strategic and operational services and support to the development, implementation and maintenance of strategies, policies, systems, and processes relating to JMO management. Assist with the provision of high level advisory and governance mechanisms on behalf of all sites, services and managers.
Responsible to the Manager of Medical Workforce Unit for all aspects of payroll, rostering governance and Award compliance for junior medical staff. Ensure the delivery of efficient and friendly customer service to all stakeholders.
The position holder will need to maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of junior medical staff conditions of employment, Awards, Rostering guidelines and ensure these are implemented in processes and practices.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

**Selection Criteria**
- Demonstrated experience in roster and administration management practices preferably in a health related field.
- Demonstrated experience in managing rostering, leave and payroll queries.
- Well developed communication, negotiation, complex problem solving and organisational skills, including experience in maintaining accurate files and databases.
- Experience in working closely with senior and junior clinicians, and an ability to work both independently and as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high volume work environment.
- Advanced computing skills in Microsoft Office programs, HealthRoster, RUM, Stafflink, and Ezisuite
- Demonstrated commitment to provision of high level of customer service to its clients and demonstrated ability to work with people at all levels within the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team, ability to work without supervision and ability to lead and manage a team.
