Quality Assurance Manager

**About this role**:
The Quality Manager is tasked with the responsibility to develop and actively promote Macnaught’s quality assurance vision to support the company growth in Australia and internationally.
In this role the Quality Manager will lead and manage established QMS/EMS as well as contribute to develop new systems and advise the Upper Management on any and all necessary developments, integrations, adjustments or improvements needed, in Macnaught’s Australia and overseas sites.
This is a full-time position based in our office at Turrella.
**In this role you will be responsible for**:
- Lead and manage established ISO9001 QMS and ISO 14001 EMS in alignment with the strategic direction of the business.
- Contribute to the development of new QMS and/or EMS systems and/or integrations to existing systems and to attain relevant certifications.
- Lead, manage and mentor the Quality team members operating in all Macnaught’s sites, both locally and overseas.
- Promote and enforce accountability across the organisation for quality control program requirements, including QMS, EMS and WHS.
- Ensure QA/QC processes are streamlined and efficient while promoting and developing a predominantly pro-active approach to quality based on prevention.
- Develop, manage, track and report on quality metrics and KPI’s to ensure QMS and EMS constantly add value to the business.
- Lead and manage the QMS and EMS audit schedules and the Quality Incident Report systems.
- Ensure WHS related documentation is correctly maintained and kept up to date.
- Effectively liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders (suppliers, distributors and all external visitors and consultants) as required.
- Support continuous improvement of the Macnaught’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) across all sites.
- Ensure the promotion of customer focus.
- Ensure that processes consistently deliver their intended outputs.
**Requirements**:
- Tertiary Engineering qualification (Mechanical preferable).
- Proven 10+ years of experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance / Quality systems / Audit Management / Customer Complain roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to Automotive IATF 16949 environments will be regarded as a plus.
- Sound knowledge of 6-sigma methodology, Statistical Process Control, 5S and lean manufacturing.
- Sound knowledge of manufacturing technologies, gauges, calibration system and tools, latest system, methods and tools for internal audit.
- Analytical approach with good numerical skill and understanding of statistical analysis.
- Excellent managerial, leadership and persuasive communication skills.
- Pro-active, can-do, forward-planning mindset
- Clear and logical thinking with an ability to deal with ambiguity.
- Ability to combine strategic thinking and hands-on approach as required.
- Keen attention to detail.
