**Operational Systems Team Leader**:

- Location: Perth Office - CBD, WA, AU- 28 Aug 2023We currently have a wonderful opportunity for an Operational Systems Team Leader (Tech & Data Services) at our Perth Office, on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is a unique and exciting time to be a part of the Tech & Data Services team at Western Power. We are at the forefront of the energy transition in leveraging existing and new technologies, including microgrid, stand-alone power systems (SPS), battery storage solutions and incorporating increased levels of renewable energy such as roof top solar into the energy system. We're transforming the electricity network ensuring a cleaner, brighter and more resilient energy supply for the next generation.

We're also working hard on enabling the decarbonisation of the energy system by converting more of our energy consumption to electricity, including electric vehicles (EVs) as well as other initiatives to enable industry sectors to reduce emissions by making the switch.

We support Western Power’s objectives through fit-for-purpose data so the business can extract maximum value from our assets in any work location. We need your support to ensure appropriate techniques and tools are used to deliver solutions to the business that they can use to generate insights that yield better & faster decisions, using data they can trust and understand. As an Operational Systems Team Leader at Western Power you will:

- Deliver high-quality fit-for-purpose solutions that meet business expectations and comply with Western Power’s Technology and Data standards.
- Reduce corporate business risk with respect to associated asset classes.
- Influence change within the team and the Tech & Data function to form a service-based and collaborative culture
- Support and Maintain the IT power systems that enable Western Power to keep the lights on in South Western Australia
- Manage and develop a highly motivated and high-performing team that has the right mix of skills and capability to deliver high quality, timely and cost effective services and products
- Manage Incidents, Problems and Changes following the ITIL Framework
- Deliver monthly and quarterly releases of key OT systems to support changing business needs
- Provide a 24x7 support service to the Network Operations Control Room and field crews
- Provide resources for projects and programs that will improve and maintain Western Power’s Operational Systems
- Be able to function efficiently in a high pressure environment

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

- 7+ years comprehensive experience in Electrical Power Management Systems.
- A minimum of 10 or more years in IT/OT with a minimum of 8 years direct experience developing and supporting software solutions.
- Experience operating in a real-time, mission critical environment with demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a crisis.
- Proven experience of leading teams of technical experts.
- Strong knowledge of IT/OT development and project delivery methodologies, principles, processes, techniques and tools.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management skills with the ability to manage relationships across the organisation at multiple levels.
- Ability to develop innovative solutions that are acceptable to the business
- ITIL Certification and practical experience using the ITIL Framework
- Broad understanding of the electricity industry, business challenges, business processes and regulatory framework would be desirable.
- Advanced change management knowledge and demonstrable skills would be of benefit.
