**Role Overview**: This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing team as Manager Assessment and Investigations where you will lead the OIA's investigation team and provide leadership, management, guidance and support to a team while ensuring quality, consistent and timely assessment and investigation activities. This includes cases of serious and/or of a complex nature within a high-volume caseload. You will also be required to conduct some investigations into more serious and/or complex matters. You will also provide quality advice to the Deputy Independent Assessor, guiding decision-making and strategic direction.
- Be an active member of the OIA's Leadership Team, fostering a positive culture of strong teamwork, open communication, leadership, innovation, inclusion anddiversity. As part of the OIA's Leadership Team, foster a culture which drives performance against the strategic and operational priorities of the team. Actively mentor staff, focussed on continual improvement, staff development and diversity of thinking. This includes encouraging innovation and team learning by leading the development and delivery of training to staff. Undertake investigations into conduct that has been assessed as more sensitive, serious and/or complex in nature.
**About you**: To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience leading teams to deliver outcomes in a disciplinary framework, while managing and conducting investigations. With your positive outlook you will thrive when you are empowering individual team members to be at their best. You will also champion diversity of thinking and be energised by continual improvement where it is needed. You will have a track record of striving for excellence and building cohesive working relationships and you will be known for keeping calm under pressure and supporting your team to manage risk appropriately.
Familiarity or previous experience working within a local government will be highly regarded, as will relevant tertiary qualifications in investigations.
