**The Opportunity**:
The Department of Parliamentary Services is looking for an ICT Continuity Manager to join in a very exciting time in our journey.

The ICT Continuity Manager (PSL 6) plays a crucial role in managing an organisation's business continuity operations specialising in back-up and restore of critical services. The role involves designing, maintaining, and optimising best practices in back-up solutions, selecting suitable services, ensuring security and compliance, and collaborating with different teams to conduct business continuity activities. It also includes automating tasks for efficiency and constantly monitoring and improving system performance and optimisation. This work helps the organisation use back-up technology effectively, becoming more agile, innovative, and compliant while delivering effective services to customers.
The role also entails implementing automation for improved operational efficiency and enhancing system performance. Through effective leadership, the ICT Continuity Manager enables the organisation to effectively leverage its back-up technology, fostering greater agility and innovation while delivering top-tier services to customers.

**Who we are looking for**:

- Experience and technical qualifications configuring and maintaining backup technologies such as Commvault; Azure Backup and Hitachi Content Platform
- Knowledge of ITIL 4 and the ITSCM process
- Tests continuity management plans and procedures to ensure they address exposure to risk and that agreed levels of continuity can be maintained.
- Evaluates the critical risks and identifies priority areas for improvement.
- Provides advice and guidance on the planning, design and improvement of service and component availability.
- Investigates all breaches of availability targets and service non-availability and initiates remedial activities.
- Develops plans for disaster recovery/business continuity together with supporting processes.
- Manages the development, implementation and testing of disaster recover & continuity management plans.
- Provides advice and guidance to support the adoption of methods and tools and adherence to policies and standards.
- Deals with problems and issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned, and the collection and dissemination of relevant information.
- Implements stakeholder engagement/communications plan. Collects and uses feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure the effectiveness of stakeholder management

- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.

**Immediate supervisor**:Director, Technology Platforms & Operation - RUN

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 6 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Work with business and technical stakeholders to identify and assess continuity risks.
- Develop and maintain an assessment framework that supports business stakeholders to assess and identify the criticality of the services and data.
- Establish processes and procedures to support the practice of Continuity Management across DPS.
- Define appropriate schedules to validate that services and data can be restored as a result of a service disruption or cyber incident.
- Provide regular reports for key stakeholders that provide insight into the maturity of the Continuity practice, at the level of Department and Branch.
- Initiate, plan, and co-ordinate regular Disaster Recovery tests to evaluate the effectiveness of DPS Continuity practices by managing/maintaining backup systems and conducting recovery activities (testing and real).
- Report on the organisation’s compliance with the ASD Essential 8 Mitigation Strategy - Regular Backups
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, internal/external stakeholders, and service providers to ensure positive customer outcomes.
- Manage, mentor, and provide guidance for team members and subordinate staff.
- Promote cross skilling opportunities across different teams with a focus on automation.
- Liaise and negotiate with other areas of DPS and other parliamentary departments and APS agencies.
- Employees of DPS are required to be able, and to be seen to be able, to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice._
