VicHealth is the world's first health promotion foundation. Established by the Victorian Parliament in 1987, we were the first agency of our kind worldwide to utilise a hypothecated tax on tobacco to support independent, long-term, evidence-based health promotion practice, partnerships and leadership. We continue to be a global leader in health promotion, as a Collaborating Centre with the World Health Organization and as a technical partner to UNICEF.
- Design and implement a health promotion and prevention capacity building initiative
- Strengthen local place-based partnerships between VicHealth, Local Public Health Units (LPHUs) and other key stakeholders
- Join the world's first Health Promotion Foundation

**Purpose of the role**

The Victorian Government has committed to expanding the scope and capacity of Local Public Health Units (LPHU's) to establish strengthened prevention and promotion to ensure a value driven, equity focused public health system in Victoria.

This position of**_ Lead, Capacity Support Program_**_ _is a new 12-month fixed term opportunity. The position has a close working relationship with the Manager, Place-based Approaches and the wider Policy, Strategy & Impact Group.

This is an important opportunity to leverage VicHealth's capabilities to strengthen the public health and prevention workforce to effectively address key drivers and upstream determinants of chronic disease.

You will also be highly driven with a can-do attitude and understand place-based systems approaches. Your ability to be comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment will be well regarded.

**Remuneration**: $91,349 - $98,328 (plus superannuation and other benefits)

**Qualifications and experience required**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Public Health, Health Promotion, Project Management or related field
- Demonstrated experience working in Public Health, or Health Promotion research or programs
- Strong experience in research/project management, with experience in commissioning and contracts preferred
- Demonstrated experience with coordination or delivery of courses or training programs
- Ability to work with multiple systems, project monitoring and reporting
- Renowned communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
