- This Government Department is seeking a APS 6 Policy Officer who is highly motivated and experienced with Health Policy and Data. As a Policy Officer, you will be involved in drafting policy advice, interpreting pathology rules and related legislation, monitoring service utilisation trends, and managing a variety of contracts on COVID-19 related pathology matters.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide policy advice to the Advisory Committee on new pathology services proposed for public funding
- Assist in the implementation of budget measures and sector analysis to support policy development
- Draft responses to Ministerial Correspondence and Questions on Notice, Senate Question Time Briefs, Meeting Briefs, Ministerial Submissions, and prepare regular and ad hoc briefs for senior executives
- Consult with the pathology sector to ensure that the MBS pathology items are appropriate and contemporary
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals
