Parks Victoria is looking for an Environmental Impact Officer to support the delivery of a range of Capital Projects across the parks estate.

**About the role**

You will have the opportunity to be part of Parks Victoria's Biodiversity Science Team. You will provide leadership, technical expertise and authoritative advice on environmental impacts, impact avoidance and mitigation and regulatory requirements for a range of tourism infrastructure projects planned for delivery across the Parks Victoria estate. You will play a key role in ensuring that ecological management requirements are incorporated into project planning, design and delivery and collaborate closely with colleagues across the organisation and external partners to ensure that Parks Victoria meets its management and legal obligations.

**We're looking for someone with**:

- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science (ecology, botany, zoology) or similar
- Knowledge of Victorian ecosystems, flora and fauna and issues relating to biodiversity and land management
- Understanding ecological impact assessment and associated regulatory frameworks in Victoria
- Well-developed project management skills and the ability to prioritise and work on multiple projects
- A current Resume

**About the Branch**

The Conservation and Planning Division provides scientific and technical advice and strategic guidance on environment and conservation matters across Parks Victoria and to the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action and other government agencies on environmental conservation policy, funding needs and program delivery. The Biodiversity Science unit leads Parks Victoria's biodiversity science program to improve understanding of the status, biology and ecology of threatened and other native species, communities and habitats to improve park management.
