We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic sustainability leader to join our Environmental Sustainability team. In this role you will lead the Department of Education's work to embed sustainability in our work and take positive environmental action. You will be a collaborative change leader with strong communication skills. You will have qualifications and experience related to environmental sustainability.

**Job description**

We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic sustainability professional to join our Environmental Sustainability team.

In this role you will lead the Department of Education's work to embed sustainability in the department's culture, leadership, programs and decision-making.

**About the role**

The Sustainability Leadership Officer will:

- build awareness and understanding of the department's environmental obligations and commitments and celebrate staff sustainability achievements
- deliver programs, initiatives and events to help corporate staff understand how they can take sustainability action through their work
- work closely with other members of the Environmental Sustainability team to support the department to minimise environmental impacts, reduce emissions and adapt to a changing climate.

- have professional experience in developing and delivering programs and initiatives that improve sustainability outcomes
- enjoy collaborating with others and have excellent stakeholder and interpersonal skills
- demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
- be proactive and seek to develop creative and evidence-based solutions to complex problems.
