**Role Summary**
The Manager, Transport and Asset Strategy is a key contributor to the future development of South Australia’s transport system, through the development and delivery of multi-modal transport strategies and robust asset management strategies.

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport delivers expert planning policy, efficient transport, and valuable social and economic infrastructure to the South Australian community that enhances the lifestyles of South Australians every day.

**About the role**
In this role, the Manager will develop contemporary and cohesive transport and asset management strategies and provide leadership in the ongoing implementation and integration of these strategies, ensuring alignment with current policy and planning proposals and future transport directions of South Australia.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Leading, developing and delivering strategic asset management and transport planning programs and advice.
- Leading the resource management and implementation process for asset management strategies.
- Managing and motivating staff and key stakeholders through significant change processes.
- Ensure effective development and contribution to agency, state and national plans and reforms through capitalising on emerging opportunities for the transport system.
- Delivering expert, strategic advice to senior management and external stakeholders.

**About the Person**
The Manager Transport and Asset Strategy will have extensive experience in a similar role and a strong desire to influence transport strategies that benefit the South Australian community. You will be solution focussed, a strategic and conceptual thinker who embraces innovation. You will also be practiced at converting high level strategy into an integrated operational program.

Your high-level interpersonal skills will be essential to represent the Department at a range of forums and build effective and collaborative relationships with a wide range of industry stakeholders and to negotiate positive outcomes.
Well-developed team leadership skills are essential to manage and motivate your team and promote a supportive and inclusive professional working environment.

**Requirements**:
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Planning or other relevant discipline essential.

**Special Conditions**

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel may be required.

**Remuneration**
PO5 - $120,798 to $126,431 per annum
