The City of Mandurah Festivals and Events team is seeking a talented and experienced individual to fill the role of Events Officer. In this role, you will assist in the delivery of major festivals, sport and recreation events within the City of Mandurah which build the capacity of local businesses, the community and increase visitation to our City Centre.

You will be responsible for:

- Working with the Coordinator, Festivals & Events and other City staff to plan major festivals, events and recreational activities that have local appeal and extend opportunities for social and economic development
- Identifying opportunities to leverage the City’s current public open space, infrastructure and community facilities to attract new events and recreational activities
- Liaising with external organisations to develop opportunities to host new events within the City of Mandurah.
- Assisting in the creation, planning, coordination and delivery of festivals and events.

**What you will bring to the team**

To be successful you will have:

- A degree / qualification and or a minimum 3 years relevant experience to the role
- Substantial experience in major event management or similar discipline.
- Previous experience with large scale event delivery in an outdoor public space
- Strong commitment to customer service and event delivery
- A sound understanding of project, contractor and risk management
- Good knowledge of major event delivery across a number of portfolios
- Established networks within the industry
- Developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including listening, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and time management skills
- Ability to remain calm in a stressful environment
- Strong report writing skills
- A sound knowledge of sponsorship and funding
- As part of our recruitment process, you will be required to participate in a full pre-employment medical that includes drug and alcohol testing

**The finer details**

This permanent full-time position attracts a competitive Level 5 annual remuneration of $87,623 - $93,338 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience) and a wide range of benefits to reward your contribution.
