**Technical Officer**

**Employment type - Temporary opportunity until June 2026**

**Salary - Clerk Grade 5/6 - $93,295 - $102,941 per annum, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation**

**Your role**

The Technical Officer will play a pivotal role in the Housing Services division, delivering efficient and responsive maintenance and refurbishment services for government employees in rural, outback and remote areas of New South Wales. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong background in construction and facilities management, who can navigate the complexities of property maintenance in challenging environments.

Teacher and Police Housing provide quality housing in regional NSW. A technical officer is responsible to action, follow up and monitor the quality control and response times of all maintenance and refurbishment requests across the portfolio.

**What you’ll do**

As part of the Portfolio Strategy & Origination Unit, you will:

- oversee a range of maintenance and refurbishment projects at one time, managing them directly or through third-party service providers to meet agreed budgets, timelines, and quality standards and ensures that the works meet the government procurement guidelines.
- participate in the evaluation of managing agent performance and service provision, contributing to improvement initiatives and performance management.
- develop a comprehensive understanding of Housing Services operations, ensuring effective service delivery to government employees in rural and remote NSW.
- collaborate with team members to address customer concerns, implementing customer improvement programs to enhance service delivery.
- Administer and monitor maintenance requests and delivery response times.

The role will involve travel both locally and regionally, including overnight travel, as required by the business and/or directed at short notice.

**What we’re looking for**

We are seeking a skilled Technical Officer to provide quality housing solutions for government employee tenants through efficient customer and facilities management services. This role is essential in maintaining the standards and performance of housing services, especially for those in rural and remote areas.

You will have proven experience in project management, maintenance coordination, and facilities management. You will possess strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Proficiency in property management software and databases (e.g., Fulcrum, Salesforce Portal, TRIM) is highly regarded.

- Current NSW Driver’s Licence
- NSW White Card
- First Aid Certificate
- Must be able to travel to remote locations, from time to time, at short notice.
- Relevant qualifications in construction, facilities management, or a related field.
