**Key Selection Criteria**:

- Experience in the development and implementation of effective regulatory operational policies and processes, particularly in relation to the mining assessment or similar function.
- Demonstrated experience in problem solving and analytical thinking, with particular emphasis on the exercise of logic, reasoning, and sound judgement in the development and implementation of regulatory decisions.
- Sound understanding of the mining industry, the major issues, trends and developments in the industry and the implications for the future direction.
- Sound understanding of South Australian mining legislation, relevant environmental legislation, regulatory policies and processes.

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Degree in Science, Environmental Management or Engineering related to the resources industry.

**Remuneration**:
PO2, $85,665 - $94,801 per annum
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week

**Special Conditions**:

- This is a 12-month term position
- Some out of hours work may be required
- DEM encourages flexible working arrangements such as working from home, part time work, job share, compressed weeks and purchased leave. Arrangements are negotiated with the appropriate manager

- The incumbent will be required to maintain a safe working environment by adopting appropriate hazard management practices consistent with the role
- The incumbent is expected to uphold the ethical behaviour and professional integrity standards as contained in the _Public Sector Act 2009_, as well as comply with any other relevant legislated requirements.
