**About the role**
The role sits within our MRT arm of the business
- we transport over 30 million tonnes per annum within our Iron Ore and Lithium operations and are proud to be moving towards a world first in autonomous road trains.
- Conduct thorough analysis of historical and real-time data to identify patterns, trends, and potential areas for improvements.
- Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and patterns in haulage operations.
- Develop predictive models using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to forest key performance indicators and optimizing process.
- Implement and fine-tune algorithms to enhance accuracy and reliability of predictions.
- Work closely with data engineers in IT department to ensure seamless integration of diverse data sources into the analytics platform.
- Explore opportunities to enhance data quality and completeness for more accurate predictions.
- Collaborate with operational teams to understand the practical implications of analytics findings and models.
- Communicate results and insights to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in data collection, analysis and model deployment processes.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics, AI and ML.
**What you’ll bring to the team**
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of data platforms within Amazon AWS and Azure.
- 1-2 years’ experience in Analytical Data.
- Experience in mining industry or a related field.
- Proven experience in predictive analytics, machine learning, and statistical modelling.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
